Laboratories
Computer, Physics , Chemistry and Biology laboratories in Balvantray Mehta Vidya Bhawan – A.S.M.A. were set up in 2002. The labs have following features:-
1.1 COMPUTER LAB
The computer lab serves as the center for teaching computer use to whole classes, usually by a specialist computer teacher. Classroom teachers also use the lab with their classes for research, or for creating technology-based projects. Technology specialists use the computer lab for teacher in-services where they instruct teachers on various aspects of using computers in educational settings. The traditional computer lab often serves as the location for networked printers and scanners that are used by the whole school.
Computer was invented primarily for the purpose of computing. But modern computers can literally perform anything ranging from launching a spaceship at a speed greater than sound to a more earthly matter like working with data at the back office.
BMVB believes in providing the best possible opportunities to its students as well as faculty to ensure consistent eminence.
The IT infrastructure includes three computer laboratories, each equipped with advanced technologies:
Primary Wing Computer Lab – Computer learning at BMVB starts right from Class I where the tiny tots get the exposure to the technology through play way method. Junior computer lab offers learning aided by sound and graphics. The Lab has 22 Multimedia PC with all required software packages.
IT Center (Vocational Unit computer lab) – Vocational Unit computer lab is for students with special need. They learn multimedia applications to support their carrier in future.
Senior Wing Computer Lab – Senior Computer Lab caters to the students of class IX to XII learning PYTHON, WEB APPLICATION and MYSQL. The Lab has 33 PCs.
1.2 PHYSICS LABORATORY
The Physics Laboratory is designed to cater the needs of students from middle to senior section. The laboratory is equipped with latest instruments required as per the norms set by CBSE Experiments in these labs are explained to and done by the students with care given to intricate details of each of them. Apart from apparatus required, the lab facilitates Steam Engine, A.C. Generator, Light-Reflection and refraction Kit etc. We ensure practical knowledge should be given in harmony with the theoretical concepts imparted to the child. Every year the laboratories are updated with inclusion of equipments in order to synchronize with emerging technology.
1.3 CHEMISTRY LABORATORY
The concept of Hands on activities begin with the lab work. Our chemistry lab is well equipped with the latest technology as per the norms of CBSE. Instruments like physical balance, digital balance and centrifugal machines not only help them to be precise but accurate as well. More emphasis given on the way to handle both reagents and apparatus. The students are trained properly so as to avoid or handle any kind of accident that may occur in the lab. Not only this, the lab provides almost all the chemicals required for the experiments. Every year the labs are updated for a better understanding of the concepts taught to the students.
1.4 BIOLOGY LABORATORY
It is well-lit with proper ventilation.
It is well equipped with latest apparatus instruments and audio visual aids which are required according to CBSE syllabus up to Senior Secondary Classes.
Three kinds of microscopes are available. These are compound microscope, dissecting microscope and also projection microscope which the magnified view of a cell can be projected.
It has a museum which comprise of plants and animal specimens as it is essential to bring the outside living world into the classroom.
It has a model of human skeleton system to understand the framework of human body.
It has a store room which can also be used as a darkroom for light sensitive experiments.
The lab is equipped to cater to the needs of the requirements for those students who wish to experiment and learn beyond the classroom activities.
