ADMIRAL R.H.TAHILIANI (RETD), CHAIRMAN
Born on 12th May, 1930 at Karachi, Undivided India.
Service in the NAVY : He joined the Indian Navy in March 1948, and was sent to the U.K. for training, Qualified as a Naval Pilot and Flying Instructor in India and as test Pilot in France, Commanded the Carrier borne fighter Squadron and Indian Navy Ships BETWA, TRISHUL and VIKRANT .Promoted to Flag Officer Rank in 1977 and served as Flag Officer Commanding, Goa Area and as Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief Southern Naval Command in February 1982, and Western Naval Command in March 1983. Took over as Chief of Naval Staff on 30th November, 1984 and retired three years later. Alumni of the U.S. Naval War College, New Port and National Defence College in India. Awarded Ati Vishisht Seva Medal in 1975 and Param Vishisht Seva medal in 1984.
As Governor: He was sworn in as Governor of Sikkim in February 1990 and resigned in September 1994.
As Chairman TII: He is associated with Servants of the People Society, Lok Sevak Sangh and Transparency International India. He is a Member of Central Vigilance Commission Advisory Council. He served as Chairman, Transparency International India from June 1997 to December 2009. He continues to work with TII as mentor.
As Chairman of Managing Committee: He is Chairman of the School functioning under the aegis of the Servants of the People of Society of Delhi. In this capacity he has been promoting Inclusive Education, Computer Education and Education among children hailing from slums and economically backward society.
Chairman of Charitable Trust: He is the Chairman of Jasbhagti Charitable Society which works for the upliftment of the weaker section of society. The society grants scholarships to the poor and needy children for pursuing their education in Schools, Degree Colleges and Professional Institutes. He is also rendering financial assistance and guidance in functioning of " Khushi Rainbow Home for Street Girls" at Tehkhand, Okhla Extension, New Delhi and also for "Umeed" a residential school for street boys at Mehrauli, at New Delhi.
SHRI UGGAR SAINJI, VICE CHAIRMAN
Shri Uggar Sainji, fondly called 'Bauji' is the Vice Chairman of School Managing Committee and the Chairman, Financial Committee. He is also Trustee of Rai Bahadur Phool Chand Trust, Anguri Devi Girls College Trust. He is a well known philanthropist and industrialist of Delhi. He extended financial assistance to set up a Maternity Ward and an Eye Ward in Irwin hospital. At the age of 94 years he is actively involved in the various welfare ventures.
He generously extended financial assistance to educational institute, disabled persons, senior citizens home and medical institute from his Trust and personal resources. With a small amount of Rs.70.00 lac as committed to Servants of the People Society for Balvantray Mehta Vidya Bhawan Anguridevi Sharsingh Memorial Academy, he gradually increased the financial assistance to the tune of Rs. 2.50 crores. He also contributed from his personal resources for construction of 'Savitri Devi Auditorioum' in the loving memory of his wife Rai Bahdur Phool Chand Scholarship is also being given to needy student.
GROUP CAPTAIN (RETD) S. C. BAHRI, DIRECTOR CUM MANAGER
GROUP CAPTAIN (RETD) S. C. BAHRI, is an excellent academician, educationist and administrator. Born on 11 November, 1940 at Sargodha (now in Pakistan), he shifted to India with his family during partition and settled in Sri Ganganagar, Rajasthan. He is M.A.(English) and M.Ed. from Ajmer University. In 1965 he joined the Air Force and served in various capacities for about 35 years. He played a key role in setting up 4 schools in Delhi, which are – Air Force Bal Bharti, Lodhi Colony, Air Force School, Air Force Golden Jubilee Institute, Subroto Park and Balvantray Mehta Vidya Bhawan Anguridevi Shersingh Memorial Academy, G.K. – II, New Delhi.
He worked in the Air Force Intelligence and worked as Staff Officer at command HQs and Air HQ. During his service tenure he was awarded commendation from the Chief of Air Staff twice for his outstanding dedication and devotion. He is the only Education Officer to receive awards twice for raising schools in Air Force. He was known as "Baba Amte in the IAF."
He has been associated with a number of philanthropic organizations and charitable Trust such as Servants of the People Society, Lok Sevak Sangh, Transparency International India, Air Force Association, Association of Senior Citizens in Education, Jasbaghti Charitable Society. He is also member of the managing committee of a few schools.
He was awarded Teacher's Day award by Freelance Journalist Association & Chirag Foundation for his valuable contribution in the field of education in 2002. His beliefs are Good education is one, which nurturers and prepares children to face challenges of life boldly and become righteous GOOD HUMAN BEINGS.
SHRI A.K. TRIPATHI, PRINCIPAL
Shri A.K. Tripathi, took over as Principal of the School on 1st July, 2002. Earlier he was the Principal of Army School, Fatehgarh Cantt., UP.
He is M.A.(English). M.Ed., Post Graduate Diploma in Teaching of English from CIEFL, Hyderabad. He has vast experience of teaching English in various classes and as Principal has done commendable job in the previous school. He has indepth knowledge of phonetics and English grammar. He has been a Resource person for many ELT workshops sponsored by Oxford University Press, Orient Longman, Sultan Chand , Association of Senior Citizen in Education etc. for English teachers of various Schools.
He has organized and conducted a number of Workshops/Orientation Programmes on various subjects specially on ELT/Value Education/ Inclusive Education and Community Development.
SMT DEEPA MISRA, VICE-PRINCIPAL
It is a privilege and honour to have Mrs. Deepa Misra, as our Vice Principal. She has assumed the role of a teacher, guide, friend and a mentor to many students, who have made their mark in this world in their respective spheres of activity. She is our guiding light who ensures smooth functioning of day to day assignments of the school. She joined this school in 1990 and with her consistent hard work, integrity, sincerity and competence the school has risen to the greater echelons of success. She is loved by one and all – staff members, students and parents alike. She has been conferred with awards for her valuable contribution in the field of Education. Her magnetic personality keeps all the members in high spirits and motivates them to be actively involved in the various school activities. She was also selected by CBSE for leadership training at NUEPA, New Delhi.
SMT GEETA MALLICK, CO-ORDINATOR (SW)
Smt. Geetam Mallick, is one of the founder members of the staff. She joined this school as Counsellor/ School Social Worker in 1982 at Lajpat Bhawan. She did her Masters in Social Work from Jamia Milia Islamia University, New Delhi. Since her appointment she has been playing a key role in the functioning of Special Wing. Her prime assignment has been to assess the special need children and counsel their parents. She counsels special need children and their parents, teachers regularly to control their behaviour problems. She is also instrumental in the rehabilitation of special need children. She was also given the additional assignments of Administrative Officer of the school in 2009. She also liaises with various agencies regarding grant and other important tasks. She ensures the implementation and smooth functioning of inclusive education system. Under her able guidance and motivation special wing has been doing well on all the fronts. Our School has the rare honour of being graded a 'Model School' by the Ministry of HRD in the field of Integrated/Inclusive Education and to achieve this unique honour her contribution has been praiseworthy. She has been leading the team of special educators/professionals with a motto to provide the best facilities to special need children.
